Healthy Creativity

There is an easy enchantment found in the natural lifestyle, one that drew me forward immediately and has kept me captivated over the years. Crafting health!

From designing fully cooked home meals, playing with recipes for skin creams, harvesting plants and bottling them up for potent tinctures, gardening, drawing out colourful meditation mandalas, crocheting warms tuques and fermenting…the list of do-it-yourself or do-it-with-others has been the main attraction within the naturopathic field that Lifestyle Naturopathy dearly loves.

Consider making simple lozenges consisting of slippery elm powder, cinnamon, honey, and lemon juice.

Allowing for creativity to be a flexible part of health opens the door to seeing life as full of opportunity for self-expression, playful enjoyment and of active participation in being well. Our actions shape our perceptions, so when feelings and logic seem out of alignment, choosing to act creatively can make a world of difference between rash decision making and emotional stuckness.

Try a weekly activity of seeking ways to craft your health. A new and fun physical exercise, an intricate poem based on current life assessments, trying new combinations of spices in baking, making homemade toothpaste -any type of creativity in which the process can be enjoyed and the results useful (yes, it is possible to laugh at failed attempts!) is a self-affirming step in living healthy and well.
