Seasonal allergies- how does this fit into the naturopathic point of view? Is it truly self against nature? Is there a spiritual connection? What can one do? Sure there are natural, OTC and home remedies that can provide relief.

What I might suggest is to take a few moments of self reflection. Bring into awareness your feelings: are you irritable, frustrated, upset or ungrounded? Sometimes we b…elieve that by changing our circumstances all will be well, but (and here I have to be careful to be clear) those emotions are ours to contend with.

With that we can approach our method of relief with an attitude of calmness, patience and openmindedness. We can become willing to try nasal irrigation using a Neti pot, we can research what products are available and how they work such as quercitin.

When clients request what is the best product for them I need to ask my own questions: medications, known allergies, symptoms and stress levels to help direct them in making a decision.

On a final note, there can be relief found through the amino-acid l-trytophan. Now legal and back on shelves, l-trytophan helps regulate the release of histamine.
